Cllr Jim Knight proposes Fossil Fuel Elimination

MSDC’s Licensing Committee last night agreed to propose to Cabinet the elimination by 2030 of fossil fuel taxis in our fleet. To help taxi drivers in these difficult times the Council has moved the date for Euro 6 compliance to October 2023.    Cllr Knight, who along with Cllr Webster, brought the motion for a carbon neutral taxi fleet said, "This is another step forward in the council's green policy and I am sure will be welcome by many residents by improving air quality."
