Local election results

The Conservatives have retained control of West Sussex County Council following the results of the local elections on the 4th May.

The election saw a significant increase in the number of Conservatives seats from 43 to 56.

A great campaigning day in Mid Sussex and two well received Drop in sessions wih Nicholas and Councillors in Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath to discuss local issues with residents.

Statement by the Prime Minister

I have just chaired a meeting of Cabinet where we agreed that the Government should call a general election to be held on the 8th June. I want to explain the reasons for that decision, what will happen next and the choice facing the British people when you come to vote in this election.
