Nicholas Soames MP and local Councillors visit vital St Wilfred's
footbridge in Burgess Hill
Commenting on the visit Mr Soames said; “The bumpy bridge at St Wilfrid’s Road is part of the social and community architecture of this part of Burgess Hill. It is an extremely important link over the railway for pedestrians and it is greatly valued and is of the first importance to local residents. “It is much used by children going to Oakmeeds Community College and by pedestrians and cyclists, young and old, and it must be retained. I am grateful for the work of Councillor Gary Marsh and others who are putting together an extremely coherent plan to see to it that the bridge remains.” Mr Soames issued a warning; “We will fight to keep this bridge and I pledge myself and my colleagues to do all we can to assist the local community.” |

Bridge is not closed.
